UNN: PHONE THIEF CAUGHT RED-HANDED IN FEMALE HOSTEL (Photo News) - UNN PALS - Kwameh Nkrumah Hostel was thrown agog this morning as Usanga Veronica Jerome (Vera), a second year student of Micro Biology was caught red-handed with a stolen phone. Vera, as she is popularly known among her friends is from Akwa Ibom State and she is currently staying at Bemuda, 400 series, Kwame Nkrumah Hostel, UNN.

unnpals.com gathered that Vera had stolen the phone since last semester and was caught today, (28/07/2015) as investigation had been going on ever since. To cover her tracks, she used her friend’s picture as the screen saver of the phone. All these while, she had been flexing around school with the phone without anyone suspecting her. Soon, her room-mate at Bemuda became a prime suspect and this raised her concern and anxiety. She then joined others in a secret investigation and she was finally caught this morning. She was locked up and bombarded with questions and finally, she opened up to have stolen the phone last semester. Both the suspect and owner of the phone cried on this revelation and hated her for causing them all the pains of accusation and loss respectively.

Immediately, they raised the alarm and Nkrumah babes descended on her. They wanted to tear her apart and strip her naked when Security Operatives came with their van and whisked her away.

It can be recalled that last year, this same Vera stole a Q5 belonging to one Ogoo, a Final Year student of Theatre and Film Studies/English and Literary Studies who is also residing at Nkrumah. Ogoo had this to say:

“I think she is cursed. It is not normal for a lady to be acting this way. I was really shocked last year when she stole my phone…I already forgave her. Hearing this again this morning, I was really shocked. I pray she changes…I really feel for her”

Many “NK Babes” as girls in Nkrumah are fondly called, expressed their shock and disappointment in what they referred to as a slap on the face of womanhood.

My own personal anger is that this lady is pretty in all angle! Why should she choose this path? Could it be really a curse? Check out this photo ladies and gentlemen…that’s Vera, the Phone Thief!

Suspected Reasons for the impromptu Mid-Semester Break in UNN from 2nd June

Day 1: OCCUPY UNEC PROTEST against erratic Power
Supply
Last night was unlike other nights. Well, a few things
happened like other nights. The school generator was
ignited by the normal 7:00pm. Students scurried to their
rooms to get their clothes ironed, to power their phones up
to at least one bar, to watch the last episode of Game of
Thrones. They scurried because even the rats knew that by
9:00pm, the lights would go off and would be taken to the
other hostels that didn't have light by 7:00pm. This has
been a tradition within the campus lately. A tradition of
sharing light among the 7 hostels in UNEC. The result of
this, has been that each hostel gets to have light for only 2
impoverished hours every day. Let me put this in
perspective, out of 24 hours, a student of UNEC gets power
supply for merely 2 hours. 2 hours to charge phones, iron
clothes,  get aeration, charge laptops for the different
projects and term papers he has been given. The rest of the
22 hours, a UNEC student spends fantasizing about the next
2 hours he would get the next day. Fire was discovered
thousands of years ago, but UNEC students live like early
men, like cave men. Last night when the customary outage
of light by 9:00pm came, it did not come without a
backlash. Not just a backlash. Students in the famous
Kenneth Dike hostel began shouting from their rooms,
throwing garbage down the stairs, a rather rustic way to
begin a peaceful protest. Next, they became a mob Angry
and charged, they stomped out of the hostel, and the
protest began. Students from the Mbonu Ojike hostel
joined. Together they marched to the Manuwa bustop.
Seeing their rage, the generator people had to cut power
entirely, fearing for their own safety. The mob marched to
the Staff Quarters, to the DVCs house, that of the Dean of
Students' Affairs. Nobody was home. Discontented, they
marched to the school gate, nearly pulled down the
sculpted lion in front of the gate along with the bold
inscription: To Restore the Dignity of Man. This was
students taking their dignity by force, by their own hands.
They obstructed traffic in front of the school gate. Soon,
security operatives came begging the students to go back
into school. An hour later, the students had retired into their
hostels, breathing off the steam of an angry and successful
protest and telling stories of how it went, and how in other
universities, students paid less school fees and yet enjoyed
steady power supply. In all, the protest went successfully,
except that some students used that opportunity to sexually
harass many female students. An act of cowardice in the
midst of such a show of bravery. The protest soon died
down and gave way to the cool passage of the night breeze.
The next day. Today. There are police officers in front of
the gate, looking suspiciously at any and every student. I
hope they see light to charge their walkie-talkie phones. I
hope they see light, especially if they stay till nighttime and
are caught in the midst of what some students are calling
the bloodiest protest to come if the school authorities don't
do something about the power problem. Now, there are
rumors that the VC is irate and has vowed to shut down the
campus if another protest occurs. For now, the students
are sparing no comments on that. There are firecrackers
and matches they need to hide well before nighttime.

Funny story on Princess Diana

This report is laughable. A story circulating in the U.S. media claims Diana and Charles had a secret daughter - although not quite in the way one would expect. Prepare to suspend your disbelief for a moment. For it is alleged that Prince William was not his mother’s first child: that he has a ‘secret sister’, now 33, called Sarah and living incognito in a small New England town in the United States.

How, you may well wonder, can this possibly be true when William was born in June 1982, only 11 months after his parents’ marriage?

The answer, according to this unbelievable claim, is that in Dec. 1980, Lady Diana Spencer, then a 19-year-old virgin, was ordered by the Queen to undergo gynaecological tests to establish that she was capable of bearing children before her engagement to the heir to the throne could be announced.

During these tests, so the story goes, Diana’s eggs were harvested and fertilised with Prince Charles’s sperm. The tests proved successful, and the engagement of Charles and Diana was duly announced. Charles, asked if they were in love, responded with his famously cynical observation, ‘Whatever in love means’ — and the embryos were ordered to be destroyed.

But one of the team who examined Diana, a ‘rogue doctor’, secretly held one of the embryos back and implanted it in his own wife. Unknown to her, she became the surrogate mother of the biological child of Charles and Diana.
